Partnering with the US Mine Safety and Health Administration Academy, Marshall’s CEGAS is designing new simulators to train teams of miners and first responders in mine safety by utilizing virtual reality situations in custom immersive environments

Tolles Career & Technical Center

Tolles Career & Technical Center

At Tolles Career & Technical Center in central Ohio, teachers sought a way to incorporate a motion capture system that not only provided high fidelity in capture accuracy, but was also easy to use and that would provide students with the skills required in today’s digital media job market. Thus, finding a system that removed the body suits and increased the interaction with the students in the classroom was a key benefit to selecting Organic Motion’s Stage markerless motion capture system. A class was built around Stage and now students in the Computer Sciences department are learning how to create animations for both games and short films

Dresden University of Applied Sciences

Dresden University of Applied Sciences

Dresden University of Applied Sciences (Hochschule für Technik und Wirtschaft Dresden) uses Organic Motion Stage system to challenge its students’ creativity. Diverse departments such as Music, Digital Arts and Computer Science work together to create applications, like a ski game powered by the person’s motion, an artistic creation where music is triggered as the body moves, among others. The ski game is used to gather biomechanical information of a person as he/she mimics the ski moves

Dynamic Athletics Research Institute

Dynamic Athletics Research Institute

Dynamic Athletics Research Institute (DARI) selected Organic Motion’s Stage system because of its “game changing” capabilities. DARI specializes in evaluating the athlete. To do so, they require the most accurate information possible, not just with tracking but also by creating a natural environment for the athlete. This can only be achieved with a markerless system, which takes away all of the set-up time needed to get an athlete ready and does not require any mechanical tracking devices or suit

DARI plans to offer NFL teams the ability to have their combine athletes evaluated. DARI will be able to evaluate the small deviations in an athlete’s movements whose performance has deteriorated. These small deviations are not detectable by the human eye, but by putting the athlete in the Organic Motion system they will be able to pin point movements in seconds

Colorado School of Mines

Colorado School of Mines

Colorado School of Mines (CSM) saw Stage as a great way to build a planned STEM exhibit for high schools. For this project, they used Stage to create a live version of XRAY vision – a student jumps into Stage, and is first displayed via regular video. Then they fade to animated cutaways, showing layers of the student’s body that moves exactly as the student moves, from the muscles to the skeleton. As a standard practice, Organic Motion fosters collaboration between its customers. This practice allowed CSM to take advantage of other Organic Motion customers’ knowledge and experience in developing applications with the software development kit, thereby reducing costs and development time

CSM also plans to add the biomechanics software plug-in and turn their Stage system into a BioStage for use in several biomechanics classes
